Superbike World Motorcycle

Superbike World Motorcycle

Superbike World Motorcycle
The motorcycles raced in the championship are tuned versions of motorcycles available for sale to the public, by contrast with MotoGP where purpose built machines are used. Europe is Superbike World Championship's traditional centre and leading market. However, rounds are also held in Qatar, Australia, South Africa, and the United States (in 2008, for the first time since 2004). An Indonesian race was also proposed for the 2008 season, but this was later canceled by the FIM.

The Superbike World Championship began in 1988, being open to modified versions of road bike models available to the public. For many years, the formula allowed for machines with 1000 cc V-twin engines (principally Ducati, but later Aprilia and Honda) to go up against the 750 cc four-cylinder engines (Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki and Suzuki). For the first few seasons Honda won with the RC30, but gradually the twins got the upper hand. Using 1000 cc V-twin engines benefited Ducati and it was able to dominate the championship for many years. From 1993 to 1999 Carl Fogarty and Ducati dominated, Fogarty won the title a record 4 times and finished as runner-up twice on factory Ducatis. Troy Corser also won the 1996 title and finished as runner-up in 1995, both times on a Ducati. Carl Fogarty has won the Superbike World Championship a record 4 times with Ducati

Realizing that 1000 cc V-twin engines suited the superbike racing formula more, Honda introduced its own V-Twin powered motorcycle the VTR1000/RC51 in 2000. The result was clear right away as Colin Edwards won the championship in the bike's first year of competition. Ducati regained the title in 2001 with Troy Bayliss.

Cobra Road Star Warrior

Cobra Road Star Warrior

Cobra Road Star Warrior
Mike nice to see the pics are getting around I had not thought of the Raider to Warrior crossover. Just glad to see others can possibly benfit from them. He said the Cobra Swept pipes WOULD fit but recommended that I don't get them because they are scraping a lot on the Raiders and the Warrior would be even more of a problem with it. Bummer because they look really good but who knows, they may not even look as good on a Warrior anyway. For that price though I know I'm not going to be the one to find out, Thanks Mike. As far as the Propipe, I didn't ask him.
The Road Star Warrior

The Road Star Warrior

The Road Star Warrior
The 2009 Road Star Warrior took the cruiser's low-end muscle and combined it with the handling and maneuverability of a sport bike. In fact, the suspension is derived from our championship-bred YZF-R1, and the engine is wrapped in a high-tech aluminum chassis. Whether you call the Warrior a power cruiser or a sport bike, you're going to want to call it your own. The 102-cubic inch 2009 Yamaha Midnight Warrior is built for riders who can't quite commit to cruiser or sportbike. The five-time AMA ProStar Hot Rod Cruiser class drag racing champ offers impressive performance, stunning lines and special black appearance - a perfect foundation for your custom touches.

High-performance, air-cooled, long-stroke, OHV, 4 valves per cylinder, 48°, V-twin powerplant produces massive torque and strong acceleration. Traditional pushrod valve actuation keeps engine height down for a lower centre of gravity and ensures more uniform heat dissipation due to absence of a cam chain case. One-piece head cover adds rigidity around the rocker arms to provide great high rpm performance and efficient heat dissipation.

Four-valve, pent roof cylinder head design uses two spark plugs per cylinder for efficient combustion and great power delivery at all rpms. Valve train includes short design intake and exhaust rocker arms that reduce inertia during high-rpm performance.

It's "Charcoal Silver" with ghost flames. The factory flame job is evidence that Yamaha wants to offer classier paint to better compete with Harley.

The Road Star Midnight has is now discontinued. Or at least, think of the Road Star S as the Midnight, but with different paint. Otherwise, it has the same chrome accents that the Road Star Midnight came with, chome controls, chrome levers, chrome forks.
